With a comprehensive five-year strategic plan and organizational vision in place to quadruple the number of teachers in our network from 50,000 to nearly 200,000, Facing History is preparing to launch the most significant fundraising effort in the organization's 40-year history. Therefore, the organization is recruiting several key senior members of the Development team that will achieve the required revenue targets and build a world-class fundraising organization.
The Senior Director of Regional Development, reporting to the Chief Development Officer, will oversee and manage the lead Development professional in each of Facing History’s nine regions. This key member of the Facing History senior Development team will support on regional goal setting, implementation of best practices, the professional development of all front-line Development staff, volunteer management and recruitment, prospect cultivation and strategy, and pipeline management / development. In the coming years, this position will help to build and adopt new giving programs, develop a culture of analytical thinking and prospect research into our development practices, and build a community of practitioners that will carry the organization’s fundraising program forward.
We are seeking a seasoned fundraising professional who is passionate about Facing History's mission and mentoring an emerging fundraising organization. Desirable candidates will have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in major gifts, campaigns, staff management, and volunteer management. Experience in corporate fundraising, foundation relations, and an understanding of education-focused philanthropy is preferred as well.
Demonstrate skills in strategic advancement
Strong analytical and problem solving skills accompanied with exemplary leadership skills
Familiarity with CRM databases (Salesforce preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
