According to me being an American doesn’t mean that you have to be born in a certain place. It also depends on how you think and how it’s up in your mind. Having love and respect for where you live is what makes you an American, another nationality, or both. For example, if a child was born and raised here yet the parents of that child are immigrants, then according to how s/he is raised they might feel stronger about one country than another. Sometimes a child has never been out of the U.S but they would say they are from the place their parents are from. What I’m trying to say is it’s up to the individual and depends on their experiences.
