How to Install QuickTime on PCs

This course uses Apple's QuickTime plug-in for displaying video. QuickTime is available for both Macs and PCs. If you have come to this page, you most likely are currently unable to view videoclips. Just follow the instructions below. (You may want to print this page so that you may follow along as you install QuickTime. Right-click your mouse and choose "Print.")

Before you begin the process, make sure you have closed all other applications besides your web browser.

Step 1: Go to the QuickTime Download Page.
Step 2: Fill out the information form to download a free version of the Quicktime plugin. (You will probably want to un-check the box that asks whether you want updates and other information sent to your e-mail address.)
Step 3: Click "Yes."
Step 4: Click "Next."
Step 5: Click "Next."
Step 6: Click "Next."
Step 7: Follow the instructions, then click "Next." (Most likely, the directory that has been chosen for you is correct; no need to change it.)
Step 8: Make sure that "Recommended" has been selected, then click "Next."
Step 9: Click "Next."
Step 10: You may enter your name if you like. You do not have or need a registration number to download the free version. Click "Next."
