This memorial was created by a high school student in Washington, D.C. and is entitled " For Those Who Cannot See".
"The eyeglasses kept haunting me. Of all the images of war, the glasses stayed with me - the piles of glasses taken from terminated. All the eyes that would never see: each other, their children, the world. My eyes open to the recognition of how easy it is to avert your eyes to the pain and suffering of others. So many eyes choose not to see or question or look into the naked truth. Choices - we make them every day. Choices to see what must be seen or stay blinded by ignorance. Blinded by tolerance. Blinded by being too busy. Blinded by indifference. Open your eyes and see for those that cannot, or will not, see."
