Please join us for a day-long program of events about the art of Samuel Bak, which will be exhibited at the Queensborough Community College Art Gallery, opening March 10, 2011. Born in Vilna in 1933, Samuel Bak had the first exhibition of his drawings at the age of nine in the Vilna ghetto. Subsequently he lived and worked in Rome, Tel Aviv, New York, and Lausanne. In an artistic career of over fifty years, he has had numerous exhibitions in major museums, galleries, and universities throughout Europe, Israel, and the United States.

Facing History and Ourselves will offer an afternoon workshop on bringing the art of Samuel Bak into the classroom as part of the day's programming. Click here for more information on the entire schedule of events.

Registration is required for one or all events. The exhibition opening reception immediately follows Facing History's workshop.,
